It occurs to me that many of my posts here are all about defensive apologies about how, no I am not screwing up my kids! Even though I'm not following all of the Good Mommy advice out there, I'm pretty confident that my kids are doing okay. What's with all of the defensive action?
Oops.
When did parenting become a contact sport?
Is it that we are trying to recreate a sense of our better selves, the selves we could have been if only our parents hadn't screwed us up with Pampers and Gerbers?
